In accordance with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) guidelines, Peru has enacted Law 30884, which seeks to establish a regulatory framework for one single-use plastics, other non-reusable plastics and disposable containers or containers made of expanded polystyrene (Tecnopor) for food and beverages on its national territory.
Accordingly, DHL has informed the prohibition of plastic imports to Peru considering the following categories:
• Non-reusable polymer-based plastic bags.
• Plastic straws of any kind.
• Polystyrene plates and cups.
